The United States Government is one of the largest publishers in the world. Every day government information is produced on a variety of topics and includes congressional bills, laws, regulations, presidential documents, studies, reports and more. Come learn about the Federal Depository Library System that was created by Congress to ensure that the American public has access to this information. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the FDLP system, the types of information you can expect to find as well as the finding tools you can use to locate government information. Hofstra University’s John W. Wydler Government Information Depository was designated by Congress in 1964. Georgina Martorella, M.L.S., M.B.A. has been serving as depository coordinator since 2003. She is Associate Professor of Library Services for Hofstra and is also the subject specialist for History and Political Science.
