Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, MLS, LEED AP, is currently the executive director of the Mid-Hudson Library System in New York, a 66-member public library consortium. Co-Founder of the Sustainable Libraries Initiative at the New York Library Association and co-chair of the American Library Association's Special Task Force on Sustainability, Rebekkah is the author of
Sustainable Thinking: Ensuring Your Library's Future in an Uncertain World and Resilience, part of ALA Editions' Library Futures Series as well as the
Handbook for New Library Directors in New York State and is the co-author of the
Handbook for Library Trustees in New York State. Rebekkah currently writes a sustainability column for Library Journal, serves on the board of the Center for the Future of Libraries, and speaks internationally on the topic of sustainability and libraries.
