Does your library preserve veterans’ memories of their military service? Would you like to share with your fellow librarians who also record veterans’ stories? Or, would you like to start a program at your library honoring our veterans by recording their histories? Please join us in a round-table discussion as we exchange ideas, procedures and project management.
This round-table meeting will be led by Edna Susman, Reference Librarian & Veterans Testimonial Project (VTP) Director at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library. The VTP has just entered its sixth year with over 120 veterans interviewed since 2014. Edna will share how she started the project and grew it into a successful project to preserve and make accessible the personal accounts of American veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war and military service.
A certificate for 2 Professional Development Hours (.2 CEU's) will be emailed after the workshop.
