Full-time Adult & Reference Services Librarian II Opening
The Huntington Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and energetic individual to work with us in the Adult and Reference Services Department where there is a full-time opening for 35 hours per week. The successful candidate should exhibit positive, proactive customer service skills, flexibility and initiative.
Duties and qualifications:

Basic knowledge of, and instruction to patrons, in all library resources including digital and downloadable materials

Possess knowledge of emerging technology and current trends in library services

Responsible for booking programs for a diverse community, as well as monitoring virtual programs

Possess knowledge of audio-visual equipment necessary for programs

Interest in community outreach and/or partnering with community groups

Collection development, readers’ advisory and individual program responsibilities will be assigned as required

Ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues as well as work independently
Requirements:

General experience working with the public and diverse communities

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Spanish proficiency is a plus

Must be willing to work multiple evenings and weekends as needed

Must be reachable on the Civil Service Librarian II list or be transferable from a current Lib. II position
Hours include nights, weekends and holiday rotations staffing both our Main building and Station Branch. Starting salary for Librarian II: $58,549.40.
