Group Purchasing Program

The LILRC Group Purchasing Program offers substantial discounts to electronic databases from Britannica, EBSCO, LYRASIS, OCLC, etc.  Please visit LILRC Web site at http://www.lilrc.org/progsvce/er.php for further information.The Group Purchasing Program is available to all academic, public, special and schools libraries either as a member or non-member of LILRC.  While LILRC is offering these subscription services at a significant discount, a small administrative eligibility fee is added to partially offset our costs.  Non-member libraries pay an additional surcharge for all services. 

Currently, LILRC offers access to the following electronic content, product or services:

OCLC FirstSearch (Base Package Databases and LILCat)

Since 1996, LILRC has offered Long Island libraries a low cost group subscription to OCLC FirstSearch package.  The current LILRC FirstSearch package includes 11 OCLC base package databases and the group catalog, LILCat (Long Island Library Catalog) without additional charge.  LILCat is the replacement of the old Long Island Union List of Serials and it is an OCLC WorldCat-based real time product.

  • Information Today (Fulltext Sources Online)
  • Sports Business Research Network (SBRnet)

NY 3Rs Offerings

  • Boopise for Libraries: The NY 3Rs Association has negotiated with Boopsie to offer Boopsie for Libraries to member libraries of all nine regional councils at a reduced price.
  • EBSCO eBooks: The NY 3Rs Association has partnered with EBSCO Publishing to offer a consortial eBooks purchasing agreement to NY 3Rs member libraries.  This offer will be open to all academic members of the 3Rs as a buying group, which will enable libraries to take advantage of maximum discounts with a coordinated ordering process.
  • RDA Toolkit: For libraries implementing or planning to implement RDA, the RDA toolkit is an essential resource for navigating from AACR2 to RDA. NY 3Rs Association is coordinating statewide purchases of the RDA Toolkit on behalf of our libraries.

3M Tattle-Tape Security Strips

3M Tattle-Tape Security Strips, for use in 3M library security systems, are being offered at substantial savings through this group purchase. Checkpoint Security Strips are also available through this agreeament.
