The Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC) is one of New York’s nine Reference and Research Library Resources Systems (ESLN).
As a regional multi-type library organization serving academic, special, public, school libraries and library systems in Nassau and Suffolk counties, our purpose is to enhance access to information, encourage resource sharing, and promote library interests for all LILRC members.
LILRC is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt not for profit organization.
LILRC is a leading force in shaping library and information policy on Long Island and New York State, and it is a primary source for resource sharing, and for the support, training and continuing education of library personnel.
LILRC’s mission is to promote, develop and enhance resource sharing, conduct training and continuing professional development programs, and engage in other cooperative activities for the benefit of the diverse libraries and their clientele in Nassau and Suffolk counties in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Goals and Objectives
To inform our members about technological, legislative, political, social, cultural and other developments as they affect libraries.

To provide continuing education opportunities for member libraries and their staff.
To advocate the role and needs of the library community to legislative bodies, the business community, and the public.
Empire State Library Network (ESLN)
LILRC is one of nine regional member councils that together make up the Empire State Library Network (ESLN).
The Empire State Library Network (ESLN) comprises nine Reference and Research Library Resources multi-type systems in New York State. In addition, Continuing Education is offered regularly through web-based professional development classes.
