LILRC 26th Annual Conference on Libraries and the Future
Design the Experience: Risk & Reward
October 26 & 27, 2017 Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage State Park
By: Rocco Cassano, LILRC Annual Conference Committee Chair
For 26 years, the LILRC Annual Conference on Libraries and the Future has showcased topics relevant to the interests of Long Island libraries. This year’s conference is going to be another can?t-miss event. The theme, Design the Experience: Risk and Reward, came about after much discussion. What are the challenges facing libraries today? What might those challenges look like five years from now? These are questions that the conference has grappled with from its inception. To help us navigate these choppy waters, customer relationship management (CRM) influencer, Marshall Lager, will kick things off Thursday evening. We also have invited Emily Drabinski, LIU professor and a Library Journal Mover & Shaker, as well as David Favaloro, Director of Curatorial Affairs, The Tenement Museum, and a representative from the Blue Sea Development Company, recipient of the Center for Active Design Award. We’ll have more details in the months to follow, but in the meantime, mark your calendars!
